The Accommodation at the Old Dye House

The Old Dye House is set in a quiet location overlooking the sea, and on most days you can usually see the Outer Hebrides far in the distance. This detached cottage for two, adjacent to the owner's home, is spacious and warm and has been sympathetically renovated and furnished to a very good standard. The Old Dye House makes the perfect base from which to explore the lovely Isle of Skye and the west coast. Up to 2 well behaved pets are welcome.

The driveway takes you round to the Old Dye House where there is plenty of parking space.

The porch leads directly into the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fully fitted with hob and oven, a microwave, a fridge-freezer, a washing machine and a dishwasher.

Walk through the dining area to get to the sitting-room area complete with a 36" Freeview TV, DVD player, CD player and a wood burning stove. This area also gives access to the downstairs bathroom, with wash-hand basin, toilet, walk-in shower and, via the wooden staircase, the bedroom.

How to get to The Old Dye House

From Portree take the A87 road towards Uig. After about 4 miles take the left hand fork on to the A850 Dunvegan road. Follow this road for about 13 miles until you come to the Welcome to Waternish sign. Turn right on to the B886, a single track road, and follow this for about 4 miles until you reach a T junction at Stein. Turn right here and follow the road for a further 2 miles until you see a sign to Carnach on the left. Turn left and The Old Dye House is about a third of a mile on the right.

Coming from the south it is possible to avoid Portree by turning left on to the A863 at Sligachan and travelling 23 miles into Dunvegan where you need to pick up the A850 heading back towards Portree for some 3 miles until you reach the B886.
